PREMIERE: DUAN – TOKYO DRIFT

Melbourne’s Duan has emerged as one of the most exciting young producers in the country in 2020. From collaborations with PANIA and ThatkidMaz on ‘Boba Tea’, through to ‘Care’ with Julia Lostrom & Simba Andrews, and the earth-shattering Doc Marty’ with emcees including Jordan Dennis, he’s steadily crafted a reputation for diversity and quality. This week he adds another string to that bow with Soundcloud banger ‘Tokyo Drift’ which we’re bringing you a day early exclusively via AUD’$.

Sampling the iconic intro bells of the Fast & The Furious film of the same title, ‘Tokyo Drift’ is a sonic punch to the face. EDM Trap done to a high calibre in the mould of early Ookay or RL Grime, Duan blesses us with a fusion of clean engineered sounds with raw beat cuts and chest pounding 808’s.

Having built an impressive catalogue of tracks across his Soundcloud showcasing an ability to move seamlessly between chilled, ambient lounge vibes and dark, turn-up trap bangers, Duan has crafted a lane of unique, yet agile production. Speaking on the new drop, he unashamedly professes it’s one to blast loud;

“It’s a track built for car subs whilst pushing 100’s or mosh pits around club speakers…”
